April 1967 - The AGU talk handout and Xavier Le Pichon’s introduction to it (Tectonophysics 1987 [1]: 1-22). Jason was scheduled to give a talk on another topic altogether, but made his breakthrough realization prior to the meeting and instead talked about tectonics. The Family is grateful to Dr. Le Pichon for his permission to reprint these documents.
March 2018. Jason gives a talk marking the 50th anniversary of the original talk and paper. He discusses the people and ideas that lead to his 1967 breakthrough.
October 2023. Princeton University hosts a memorial symposium dedicated to Jason as a mentor, colleague, teacher, scientist, and as a friend and father. Extensive discussion of his scientific achievements. Click below for video.
